Renewed American intelligence gathering operations near the Chinese mainland are disrupted when a “Phoenix 3” stealth UAV crashes on a Chinese mega-city in construction, Fuijan.
The UAV, being a state-of-the-art intelligence gathering resource, is deemed too important to fall into non-American hands. A USMC detachment is hastily sent to recover key components from the craft and to destroy its remains. The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) commanders, on the other hand, have no intention of letting an intrusion go unpunished. A nearby PLA Marines unit is rushed to the Fuijan area, with orders to crush the invading forces.
