A Spider charge is a special explosive charge, used by demolition troopers. The Spider can be used in one of two modes: 1) As an intelligent land mine: simply set the Spider charge on the ground or on another surface. After the charge is set, it will explode only when an enemy soldier enters its blast area, and after checking that no friendly soldier will be hit by the explosion. 2) As an explosive charge: place the Spider charge and then double click on the right mouse button to detonate it, or hold down the right mouse button and press the spider's number (1-5). you can choose to detonate all Spider charges deployed simultaneously, by holding down the right mouse button and pressing down the mouse wheel.

The Battle Hacker is a revolutionary player class. A battle Hacker can hack enemy IT systems, such as defense turrets and spider charges, in order to destroy or control them. Hacking a system is accomplished by using a special dedicated interface.
How do I hack into turrets and enemy mines?
The Battle Hacker can hack into defense turrets and Spider charges by right-clicking while aiming at them. Then, the hacking console appears on the HUD and the Battle Hacker must solve a logical map puzzle in order to access the hacked element. We strongly recommend reading the relevant section in the game guide.
What is the difference between Squad and Platoon Leaders?
Command and control within a Super Marines platoon is based on hierarchy and role distribution. The general idea is that the Platoon Leader decides what is to be done, while the Squad leaders decide how to do it. For example, the Platoon Leader may order a certain squad to assault an enemy position. The Squad Leader's job is to lead his comrades towards that objective in the most efficient way possible.
How do I call for artillery support?
Only Platoon Leaders can call combat support (explosive, EMP and smoke), when it is available to them. Support is requested by right clicking on a target and selecting the desired support type.
What does "EMP" stand for?
Electro Magnetic Pulse – namely a blast of energy which renders electronic devices inoperative. In Rising Eagle, EMP weapons are used to temporarily disable defense turrets, spider charges and soldiers HUD.

Medals are awarded for special and impressive in-game achievements. Award ribbons can be gained by achieving certain position or weapon related goal (such as hacking a given number of systems, or killing a predetermined number of enemies with a handgun).
How do I advance in rank?
Rank is dependent on a player's “general skill” score. General skill is accumulated by achieving various in-game goals, such as killing enemies, winning sessions, etc.
I went out of ammo! How can I re-arm myself?
A Squad Leader can re-arm his team mates by standing near them while holding the ammo pack (default key “3”). Every team member may rearm, regardless of the squad he is a member of. In order to ask the Squad Leader to re-arm you, pressn the 'N' button.
